The future is bright!
Future Pathways
Guildford Grammar School students receive the right support and opportunities to achieve personal excellence. Our graduates go forward to secure a pathway of their choice, through university, TAFE or direct entry into the workforce.
WorkReady
In Years 11 and 12, the WorkReady Pathway provides an opportunity for students to gain a nationally recognised qualification through Endorsed Workplace Learning Units.
WorkReady students generally achieve two units of Endorsed Workplace Learning in each of their final two years (a total of four units). These count toward their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE).
- Year 11-12 students have the flexibility to experience work placements during the exam period each semester, helping them gain practical skills and understanding to complete their certificate qualifications.
- Year 11-12 students, in consultation with the Futures office, will look for a suitable certificate or qualification either from within the School or through Registered Training Providers such as TAFE.
Vocational Education and Training
Vocational Education and Training (VET) gives students the skills and knowledge they need to kick-start the future they want through TAFE or alternative entry pathways to universities. These opportunities are available through a combination of Workplace Learning and a broad range of certificate qualifications offered by Guildford Grammar School, TAFE and other registered training organisations.
School-Based Traineeships incorporate learning and paid work with an employer and are available in a variety of industries for students who want to investigate a specific career option early in their learning journey.
Ready, willing and able
WorkReady, in combination with a VET qualification and workplace experiences, has the flexibility and scope to cater to a wide range of student needs.
VET in Schools (VETIS) ensures students are well placed to secure a job or further study in their current field of interest. VET is a perfect introduction to the world of work as students learn practical, real-world skills and establish networks. They leave school with a nationally recognised vocational qualification and further study pathways for TAFE and university.
