Lachlan awarded ADFA Scholarship

Congratulations to Year 12 student Lachlan Madden who has been awarded an Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the top 50 applicants across Australia who applied for officer training entry into ADFA for 2019. Over 4000 people applied this year. Lachlan is following in the footsteps of his Old Guildfordian father Craig (Wb 82-86), who also received the scholarship when he was in Year 12, entering ADFA in 1987.

Lachlan was presented with an iPad Pro and a Certificate at this morning's assembly and the School was presented with a framed plaque to commemorate the achievement. Lachlan will be entering Army Officer Training on 29 January 2019.

ADFA is Australia’s premier Military Officer Training Academy for Navy, Army and Air Force located in Canberra. Officer Cadets attend ADFA for 3 years of military training and university studies (BA, BSc or BEng). They graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of NSW.

Inspiring students to achieve personal excellence and to be outstanding citizens who work to create a just, loving and peaceful society.
