D'Arcy Slater Scholarship
D’Arcy William Slater joined the Preparatory School in 1986 and then became a member of Freeth House until his tragic death on 26th June 1991. He is remembered as a happy and lively teenager full of fun, who was a good student and represented the School in Swimming, Tennis, Football and Chess. The scholarship was established in 1997.
Historically, this scholarship has been awarded annually to a boy entering Year 7, in memory of D'Arcy Slater. The School is pleased to be able to announce that this Scholarship will now be awarded annually to both a boy and a girl entering the School in Year 7. The successful applicants will have demonstrated the potential to make a strong all-round contribution to the School and possess early indicators of leadership potential. The students should have represented their primary school or club in a sporting capacity. Preference is given to candidates who come from a family which, for financial reasons, might not normally consider the enrolment of a child at the School. The scholarship provides for the full remission of tuition fees and is tenable for 6 years, provided that satisfactory progress is made.
