• Guildford Grammar School's Excellence in Classroom Teaching Conference is now in its third year, with the 2017 conference being held on Saturday 16 September.

Perth teachers are often frustrated at the lack of opportunities to enjoy good quality professional development focusing on sound classroom practice, which they can use immediately with their own students.  This conference presents a wide range of relevant workshops, sharing strategies and resources that can be taken back and used immediately in the classroom. Popular sessions will be held twice to ensure as many delegates as possible are able to attend the workshops of their choice.

The full list of workshops is available by clicking here.

The conference costs $150 per qualified teacher and $100 for trainee teachers, and includes morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and networking drinks and nibbles at the conclusion of the day.

We received glowing feedback on last year's conference.  Just some of the comments we received are below:

"Fantastic day, well run by knowledgeable and engaging presenters."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my sessions and the chance to network with other teachers from such a wide range of contexts. I will definitely be back next year!"

"Great experience - lots of valuable, practical knowledge which can be transferred into the classroom on Monday morning.  Thank you."

"A day to remember!  Very insightful and energetic.  Thank you!"

"I loved the conference!  Thanks for hosting this.  The boys are very lucky to have so  many talented teachers."

"Great timings! Thanks for the handouts and notepaper. Thank you so much for hosting the day.

"Saturday PD opportunities of such diversity are very hard to find!  So friendly and really professional.  Great food too!"

"I think it is really a great way for teachers to develop and grow in their teaching and team building (students and staff) areas.  Great choice of workshops and PD material."

"Have thoroughly enjoyed today. Able to take on board knowledge in a supportive surrounding and with time to discuss pedagogical issues."

"I attended last year's conference, and thoroughly enjoyed it. After 20 years of PD etc, this event is my favourite. Practical and fun, the warm hospitality combined with a relaxed teaching perspective has me recommending this day to all my colleagues."
