Mathematics

The Faculty of Mathematics is committed to providing the best possible education for students of mathematics at all levels. The department uses the latest in technological and virtual equipment to ensure that our students are well versed in modern mathematical learning.

In Years 7 to 10, all students study a core program in accordance with the Australian Curriculum with the opportunity for extension and remediation depending on individual needs.

Students are banded into one of four levels of mathematics best suited to their needs.  The STRIVE and Advanced level allow for extension, the Standard level is our program for the Australian Curriculum, while the Applied level allows for remediation.  Movement of students within these levels is ongoing, depending on individual needs.

In the upper school, the full range of WACE courses are offered. Students receive instruction from experienced teachers in small classes and examination techniques are emphasised to best prepare students for the external examinations.

Inspiring students to achieve personal excellence and to be outstanding citizens who work to create a just, loving and peaceful society.
