About Us

Guildford Grammar SchoolAs one of Western Australia's oldest independent schools, Guildford Grammar School has a proud heritage of providing an outstanding education for boys and girls.

The School was formed over 120 years ago in 1896, when pastoralist and Parliamentarian Charles Harper saw the critical need for better education as a way to transform lives.

We remain committed to our founding vision and focused on providing an education that will equip our students for life in the modern world.

The campus is magnificently situated on the banks of the Swan River, some 15 kilometres from the city of Perth. Set on almost 100 hectares of undulating land, our campus is acknowledged as one of the most picturesque in the country. At its entrance, and framed by magnificent 80 year old London plane trees, stands the imposing Chapel of St Mary & St George, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Australia.

Transportation links are also on our doorstep. The East Guildford Train Station adjoins the Campus, providing a direct link to the city and western suburbs. The main highways to the state's north and east pass our boundary, while the Domestic and International Airports are only a short distance away.

Our co-educational Preparatory (Junior) School caters for boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 6 on an independent site within the campus. This level of independence has allowed our younger students to experience the excitement and pleasures of learning in their own purpose-built environment, with staff able to target the specific needs of younger boys and girls. A critical feature of the Preparatory School is its commitment to limiting class sizes to ensure personalised care and attention for every student.

Guildford Grammar SchoolOur co-educational Senior School for girls and boys from Years 7-12 constantly strives to maximise the potential of each and every student. To support our students and staff we are fully committed to the provision of outstanding educational facilities in a disciplined yet caring environment.

Our Boarding School will transition to co-education from 2020.  We will soon start construction of a new state-of-the-art facility, which will be completed in 2021.

Indeed the Guildford Grammar School of today is one of Australia's pre-eminent educational establishments. More than 88% of our students leave School to attend universities in Australia, UK, USA, New Zealand and many countries throughout Asia.  Over 70% are admitted to their first choice university.
