Four Year 11 students have designed and built an electric vehicle which will be entered in this year's ev Challenge in Wundowie.
The ev Challenge is an annual engineering competition in which students design and built a single seat electric vehicle to complete as many laps of a circuit as it can in a one hour time frame. This year, the Engineering students Piers, Matthew, Bailey and Paul, designed, prototyped and built a vehicle from fibreglass and aluminium to compete in the event.
The car was designed using industry standard Solidworks CAD package and a 1/10 scale model was made using 3D printers before the full size moulds were made.
The 2015 ev Challenge will be held at Hurricane GoKart Club facilities in Wundowie on 14 November.
