In an effort to ensure the children are eating nutritious, healthy breakfasts and afternoon teas, the food served in the Centre is now made, as much as possible, by hand.
To warm the coldest tummies, pumpkin soup and handmade pies and pasties are now served alongside the fresh fruit and vegetables the Centre has always provided. Each day features a 'special', decided upon by what is in season and what the children are asking for.
Tucking into good, healthy food keeps preservatives to a minimum, ensures the children can recharge without a sugar rush, and provides an ideal opportunity for a communal meal where the children sit and eat together and discuss their day with staff and other children before playtime starts.
The Centre also provides vegetarian options, and food preferences and allergies are catered for.
